ALG is seeking for future mission in Rwanda a Gender expert, to carry out a project relating to developing the gender profile of the health sector.

The assignment

This assignment will require proven high-level Gender analysis skills, and skills of working
in a multidiscipline context will facilitate gathering relevant data from a wide range of
actors including public institutions, private sector and CSOs.
The assignment is envisaged to be undertaken by a multi-disciplinary Consultants with
expertise in both the health sector and gender equality.
The consulting firm should propose a team of 2 consultants. One specialists in gender
and development issues (Team Leader) and one Public Health specialist.

Qualifications

▪ A Bachelor or Master degree in Public Health with 7 years of working experience
in public health;
▪ Proven experience working with the health sector in Rwanda in terms of policy,
sector project analysis, research or monitoring; at least 2 are proven by certificate
of good completion;
▪ Proven background of EDPRS2, Health sector policies, strategies on public
health (particularly maternal health and mental health, and gender and
development related issues);
▪ Demonstrated knowledge of national, international policy and legal frameworks
related to gender equality;
▪ Experience in working with technical Ministry or public agency or Academic
research on health would be an asset.
▪ Fluent in oral and written English, knowledge of French and Kinyarwanda.
